Life, Tuesday Ten

Tuesday Ten: 2-20-18

  1. Last week may have been the busiest week I have had so far this year. I am still recovering. Forgive me if today’s post is all over the place. 😊
  2. Maj and I usually don’t do much for Valentine’s Day. This being our seventh one together, we took it easy as usual. Maj did manage to sneak out of the house while I was working in the back room to buy me some chocolate-covered strawberries, and it was a great surprise. It’s the little things!
  3. Even though I had two tests the next day, we got all dressed up and went to dinner with a couple of our friends for V-Day. I honestly do not remember the last time I wore heels. We forgot to take pictures, but I did manage to get this one. You can see the joy on Maj’s face. Really, though, it was a great (much-needed) night out!
  4. All things considered, my tests went pretty well (I think – the verdict is still out on one). Luckily, test-taking is one of my talents. Not super helpful in real-life situations, but it makes school much easier. :p
  5. Friday morning, Maj and I packed up the dogs and left to Texas. I will spare you all the details, but it was not a fun trip… Let’s just say Moose was having some issues. Aren’t dogs great???
  6. The night we got home, after I spent some time with my little brother, I went with my family to Casa Garcia’s. I literally go there every time I come home. They have the BEST queso. If you guys ever go to Austin, I highly recommend that place. All-time fave.
  7. The rest of the weekend was filled with wedding stuff. Y’all. I am SO glad this is a one-time thing. After I went to my dress alteration appointment on Saturday afternoon, I went to buy alcohol for the big day. Luckily, I had my best friend Eliana with me, or else I might have lost it. There was so much. And it was so expensive. I am definitely wishing we would have gone with our original plan of having an alcohol-free wedding, LOL.
  8. That night, Maj and I, along with 14 of our family members and closest friends, went to have dinner at our rehearsal dinner venue. Afterwards, I went to Eliana’s house and did some more wedding planning with her and her mom until past midnight. Huge shout out to them, but also boo them, because I did not realize how much I still had left to do. (Jk about the second part, love you guys! 😊 ) To wrap up the weekend, I did my hair and makeup trial on Sunday morning.
  9. Maj and I made it home Sunday night just a couple hours before the 9:15 pm showing of Black Panther, which I had bought us tickets for a few days before. For those of you who don’t know us, our normal bedtime is around 10:30, so this was definitely out of our norm. It was so worth it, though. Black Panther is phenomenal.
  10. Last night, I went to the annual women’s conference at my church, called Neon. It was amazing. In case I don’t say it enough, I love my church. God is so good!
