On Sunday, Moose and I made the trip from home (Pflugerville, TX) back to Norman to prepare for my final semester at OU. The trip didn’t start without a little drama, though.
I made our handsome pup a nice, cozy spot in the back seat of my car. About ten minutes into the trip, a box fell into his spot. I immediately pulled into the grocery store parking lot to move the box so he could be comfortable. As I walked back to the driver’s seat, our precious little gift somehow managed to climb over the pile of junk in my backseat, crawled into the front seat, and locked himself in the running car, along with my phone, wallet, and (of course) spare key.
I know what many of you are probably thinking. How unlucky! You must’ve been so shocked. Au contraire. These kinds of things happen to me all. The. Time. Luckily, I come from a family of highly skilled individuals, and my brother was able to unlock the door with a shoestring. He’s awesome.
Anyway, I have been back in Norman for two full days now, and I’ll admit, it is tough. Maj and I have done the “long distance” thing in the past, the entire year I was at Texas A&M, but it’s different after being as close as we have the whole time I have been at OU. I’ve never known Norman without Samajé.
That being said, since I have been here, I have met SO many amazing people who I know will make this a lot easier for me than it would be otherwise. I have found a roommate, a family, a church family, and incredible friends I can count on for just about anything – and I have Maj to thank for most of those connections. Furthermore, he gave me our little Moose, who may drive me crazy, but can give me the snuggles I will be missing out on for the next couple of months. 🙂
As hard as it is being back without my very best friend, I am so excited for what is happening in mine and Samajé’s lives! He is thoroughly enjoying training in California (and how could you not when you get to work out on the beach!) He has a great agent whose family has welcomed him with open arms and made him feel at home. His trainers are finally getting him to eat healthy food, although he sent me a picture the other day of a bag of Lucky Charms marshmallows he had picked from the cereal, per the usual… 🙂 He gets to do what he loves, while still managing to take classes online. Oh, and I get to go see him in two weeks!!!
Some days are harder than others being apart, but we are so incredibly blessed to be in the place we are in. God has done amazing things in our lives, and He has gotten us through the toughest times. I am looking forward to these next several months in that I know He will always make a way!
<3 Meg
P.S. – While I generally love to write, I’m not the best with ideas. Let me know if any of you have anything you’re wanting to know that I can include in my posts – about our relationship, our lives in general, our schooling, etc. I’m open to any and all suggestions! 🙂
Love this… you will both do great thing!! 😘😘❤❤
